Ever had chicken liver sauce all over your roasted chicken for dinner?
Tessie’s Grills and Roasters or TG&R has been serving Tarlac with its roasted chicken and liempo since 1992. It started as a take-out stall at F. Tañedo Street, bearing the name Tessie’s Lechon Manok and Liempo, and has been transferred in 1997 along McArthur Highway to serve those who wish a fast food dining experience. It was then that it started bearing its current name.
In 2004, TG&R transferred again to its current location, right in front of SM City Tarlac, serving Chinese and Filipino cuisines. From the signature roasted chicken and liempo to pancit to vegetable dishes, it has called on families and friends all over the province to visit.
Adventurous when it comes to food? Each Friday and Sunday, an all-you-can-eat buffet offers new dishes, which Ms. Teresita “Tessie” Mallari, owner of TGR and Dampa sa Tarlac, experiment with, cook and perfect, herself. Customer feedback during these days is encouraged as it serves as foundation for an ever-innovative menu. In fact, the newest Pork Honey Ribs is a product of Ms. Tessie’s secret recipe and local preference.
A newly-added section of the restaurant is the Mongolian Bar, which offers a variety of fresh vegetables and herbs customers can choose from. Mixed with tofu, chili garlic and spices, the salad is sautéed right there in front of the customer. Should the customer wish to experience the cooking, TG&R’s trained staff will be more than willing to assist.
TG&R also has five functions rooms of varied sizes for all occasions. Craving for chicken and original recipes? Visit TG&R and experience “pagkain na sosyal sa presyong hindi mahal” (classy food that’s affordable)!
